① Clean electricity and easy to control, such as the pit-type resistance furnace, which is an indirect heating workpiece with low thermal efficiency. The thermal efficiency is increased by strengthening radiation, reducing the heat storage of the furnace lining and the heat dissipation of the furnace wall; the pulse ion nitriding furnace uses electricity to ionize the low vacuum gas into ions. Under the action of the electric field, it impacts the workpiece at high speed. While heating the workpiece, the nitrogen element penetrates into the workpiece. This heat treatment method has a higher thermal efficiency;
② The fuel is cheap, and natural gas or coal gas is used as much as possible. It is a high calorific value gas, which can form a flame on the ejection burner. Through thermal shock, thermal radiation, and thermal convection, the workpiece is directly heated. It has a high heat transfer coefficient and heating speed, so the thermal efficiency is high.
When the batch and process of the heat treatment product are confirmed, the selection of furnace type becomes the key to realizing the process, energy saving, and reducing costs. Continuous furnaces consume less energy than periodic furnaces. The order of thermal efficiency of each furnace is from high to low: vibrating bottom furnace, pit furnace, conveyor belt furnace, box furnace or table normalizing furnace. When the batch is large, it is advisable to use a continuous furnace.
